Like the Bothies, Trekking Huts and Tramping Huts
found abroad, Cumbria has camping barns providing simple dry basic
accommodation for those on a budget.(£7.00
per person per night midweek and £8.00
per person per night weekend & Bank Holidays).
Our barn has a sleeping area for 8 upstairs, with a sitting and dining
area below. It has a separate toilet, shower (charge for hot water,)
and cooking area all within the building. Heating is from a solid
fuel stove (coal and wood extra). Outside there is a barbecue and
seating area. The farm has a Tea Garden with all home baking. Breakfasts,
using local produce, can be ordered in advance at £7.50 per person,
packed lunches can also be ordered.

Inside
The kitchen has a sink with drinking water (hot water available if chosen). You must provide a stove and all utensils (imagine you are camping).
The solid fuel stove provides ample heat and acts as a focal point for the evening's reflections on the events of the day. Its warmth enables the barn to be used through out the year.
Upstairs there is ample space to sleep 8. Mattresses are provided but don't forget your sleeping bags.
There is a shower, toilet and washbasin for your convenience.
A camping barn is essentially a stone tent.
